Hello everyone! Recently we took some time out to chat with USA Today bestselling author Sylvia McDaniel about her life as an author. Read on to learn more about her interesting career and her bestselling books.
Q: Welcome to the L.O.V.E. blog Sylvia! We appreciate you taking the time to chat with our readers. Can you tell us a little bit about your experience with writing your first book?
A: I loved to read and after reading a very bad romance, I decided to try to write one. It was horrible, but I loved writing. So I joined RWA and started to learn about writing. It took me five years to sell that first book.
Q: We saw on your website that you have 2 doggies at home that you love very much. Are they still doing well?
A: OMG! Yes, we have Zeus and Ashley. Zeus is a gorgeous red long hair with a personality that demands lots of attention and snuggles. Ashley is our older dog who is sweet and shy.
Q: That's adorable! We're so glad they're doing well. Our readers should know that you write in the Romance genre. In that genre, what's your favorite type of story to write?
A: I love to write secret babies or reunion stories.
Q: Secret baby stories sound really interesting. The drama! What is it like to be a member of the Romance writers community and any organizations where you have membership?
A: Since I just moved eight hundred miles and live in remote Colorado, I no longer have a writers organization close at hand. But I’m going to join a Denver chapter and also some non-romance writers groups in the area. I find local writers groups in the Dallas area to be very warm, welcoming organizations.
